We are probably few among the many cakers in that we have now taken four trips (here, here, here) and counting to collect all of the cakes in Forest Park. On this day, we went for the Great Forest Park Balloon Race. After today's trip, only two Forest Park cakes remain.
139. Grand Basin/Fair St. Louis
St. Louis hosted the World's Fair in 1904. The art museum at the top of the hill in the background is one of the only remaining structures.
140. Forest Park Forever/Dennis and Judith Jones Visitor's Center
Forest Park is one of the largest urban parks in the country. At 1,300 acres, it is 1.5 times larger than New York's Central Park. Right outside this building is one of those inclusive playgrounds. It's designed for children of all abilities and includes ramps to all structures. In this building, you can learn all about the park and its attractions.
141. The Muny
The Municipal Theater Association of St. Louis just completed their 96th season. It is America's oldest and largest outdoor musical theater.
142. Purina Farms
Not sure if this one counts, because we didn't actually *go to* Purina Farms to get it. We just lucked across it at the fairgrounds for the Balloon Race. They had a booth set up with puppies to pet.
The rest of the day was spent enjoying the festival and watching balloons. It was hot, we stayed all day, and had a lot of fun.
