Last Saturday, as we do every Saturday, we got all dressed up for ballerina class. But, when we got to the rec center, we discovered that dance was cancelled because of the Valley of the Flowers Festival. Okay, so we hit the festival instead. There was a giant bubble machine. That's all you really need to know.
16. Taille de Noyer
After we had enough festival, we continued on. This cake is on the grounds of McCluer High School. It's a good story for those interested in local history. The original portion of the home is 224 years old. At that time, it served as a hunting lodge, situated firmly in wilderness, for an Irish fur trader, John Mullanphy, who operated a store in the city. The property remained in the Mullanphy family until 1960, when it was acquired by the Ferguson-Florissant School District. The home is now restored and open to the public, but only on Sunday afternoons. :(

This cake is in front of a nice little waterfall at the train tracks in Ferguson.

There is a pair of red train cars in the parking lot.
Above the cake is the Whistle Stop Depot, which is a cafe housed in a converted train station. The interior is like a museum. There are lots of old pictures and maps on the walls and displays of old equipment.
And they have chocolate ice cream.
This cake is very close to the Ferguson Farmer's Market. We got some fresh squeezed lemonade and a mini cinnamon pie.
233 to go.
