Today we had to hit UCity for some other business, and it was a gorgeous day - the perfect opportunity to find some cakes!
There are seven in a long stretch on Delmar, but somebody got tired after the first five, so we had to leave two for another day.
5. Lion Gates at Delmar Loop west end. This is covered in chalkboard paint and asks visitors, "Where did you go to high school?" We didn't have chalk, but I wouldn't have answered anyway. We talked about the Lion Gates and she decided they were there to protect us from zombies.

6. COCA
We followed a parade of mini-ballerinas to the next cake in the row. She excited more about the ballerinas than the cake, until we explained that Ms Diane doesn't teach dance here, and we didn't bring our ballerina shoes.

7. Walk of Fame
This one is right next to the Chuck Berry statue, outside of Fitz's. We stopped and had lunch here. Three cheeseburgers and one bottomless root beer. She's really having fun spotting and climbing on these cakes. I would like to know two things: do all the stars on the cake appear on the sidewalk, and what song is encoded in that metal half-wall?

8. Blueberry Hill
My favorite of the day. It's covered in the same kind of memorabilia as displayed in the restaurant. She loved the Batman, Mickey Mouse, and especially the Darth Vader. Just so happened that she was wearing her Darth Vader shirt.

9. Tivoli
The Tivoli cake was nice from the front (the "250" side), but scary from the back. It freaked her out a bit. We didn't even notice the bloody "Vincent Price" on the base until we were looking at the pictures. We found out that they are doing a showing of "Meet Me in St. Louis" on May 25, when someone's great-grandma is rumored to be in town, so that might be fun.

241 to go.
